
Theater at Case Western Reserve University opens the 2011-2012 drama series with Les Liaisons Dangereuses, by by Christopher Hampton. Performances are October 7, 8, 13, 14, 15 at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees on October 9 and 16 at 2:30 p.m. Eldred Theater is located at 2070 Adelbert Rd., on the Case Quad behind Millis Science Center.
Christopher Hampton’s adaptation of Pierre Cholderlos de Laclos’s epistolary novel is a deliciously decadent exploration of the pleasures and perils of hedonism. Set amidst the lives of two eighteenth century French aristocrats and rife with sensuality and intrigue, Les Liaisons is a warning of the dangers of too much pleasure. The production is directed by Jerrold Scott.
