Congratulations to the 2023 Barbara Dunn Scholarship Recipient, Carrena Spann.
Due to the generosity of an alumni’s family, we are able to offer the Barbara Dunn Scholarship to another incoming student. The student retains the supplemental scholarship all four years with the major in Theater.
Carrena Spann hails from Columbia, SC — first a student of Richland Northeast High School, and now a graduate of the South Carolina Governor’s School of the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH). She adores reading, crafting, visiting museums, critique-binging new TV shows and movies, and spending time with her little sister. She chose Case Western because it felt like a call from the Lord: one that would empower her to reconstruct her intellect with a purpose she never thought possible. She’s excited to study theatre (no surprise there) as well as the likes of studio art, and to make multiple forays into matters of the humanities. She’s proud to be a new Spartie.
