CWRU Theater – Auditions – 2026/2027

  • Auditions for CWRU Undergraduate Theater Department Productions are open to all CWRU students.
  • Auditions for Fall 2026 are tentatively scheduled for August 26th with callbacks being held on August 27th. Subject to change.
  • Keep checking this page for updates and audition forms.
  • Majors/Minors have two options for monologues:
    • One monologue, no longer than two minutes. Either a Shakespearean Verse or Contemporary piece.
    • Two monologues, no longer than two minutes TOTAL. One Shakespearean verse and one contemporary piece, both under one minute each.
  • Non-majors/minors can feel free to prepare monologues to the above specifications, OR they will have the option to cold read a speech.

A note from the Intimacy Coordinator:

You will have an opportunity to express your comfort level with staged intimacy in this semester’s productions. On your audition forms, the directors have provided details as to the specific intimacy needs for each production. Please give this some real thought, respond honestly, and let the team know if you have any questions.

Certain intimacy moments are vital to the storytelling of the play. If you agree to the intimacy demands of the role you accept, you will be expected to meet those demands in production. If you are no longer willing or able to carry out those intimacy expectations during staging rehearsals, your role may need to be recast.
